Hospice Care Without Truth | Episode 1

The gentlest comfort may be the cruelest lie.

In today's society, one type of short video moves people very easily.

That is hospice care.

A nurse holds an old person's hand,

Family members stand around the hospital bed,

And say to him in a soft voice:

"Do not be afraid."

"Go in peace."

"Your life has been very complete."

"In the other world, there will be no more pain."

Some of these short videos have very high views.

In the comment section, there are tears, touch, and praise everywhere.

It looks so full of love!

So warm!

So full of human light!

But I want to ask one question:

How do you know that he will be better after death?

Have you been to that world?

Can you guarantee that he will not face anything?

If you do not know at all, why do you tell a dying person:

"Don't worry, everything will be fine!"

Is this really comforting him, or is it making empty promises?

I am not against hospice care.

Easing a patient's pain and being with him in his last days is certainly something to respect.

But if the body's pain is eased, what about the soul's questions?

We help him adjust the pillow, give him painkillers, hold his hand, and speak the last words with him.

And then?

What actually comes after death?

There is an ancient scripture passed down for thousands of years, with a very serious sentence:

"It is set for people to die once, and after that to face judgment."

If this sentence is true, then shouldn't this truth be what a dying person needs to know most?

Real love should not only have gentleness, but also honesty.

Because comfort without truth may be the cruelest comfort.

Hospice Care Without Truth | Episode 2

Who Promised You a Better Place?

After a person dies, we often hear words like this:

"He went to a better place."

"He is finally free."

"He must be very happy now."

"He has turned into a star in the sky."

How warm this sounds!

But please tell me: what is the proof for these words?

Our wish for someone to be happy after death and his actual happiness after death are two different things!

Wishing something is true does not mean it is true.

If a person is about to walk on a strange road, and at the end of this road there may be great danger,

What would you do?

Would you tell him: "Don't worry, there will be flowers all ahead!"

Or would you warn him seriously: "Do you really know the road ahead?"

People today care a lot about facts in many things.

When buying a used car, they check if it had accidents.

When buying a house, they check if there are problems with ownership.

Even when buying something worth a few dollars, they check if the reviews are real or fake.

Yet when it comes to the most important thing in life—what we will face after death—many people suddenly stop caring about the truth.

They only leave one sentence: "Don't worry, everything will be fine."

Isn't this strange?

According to ancient Christian faith, death does not mean all problems are solved automatically.

After death, a person still has to face the righteous Creator.

Whether a person gets eternal life is not decided by a few good wishes from family and friends.

So, I am not saying that we should not comfort families who lost loved ones.

On the contrary.

We should stay with them, care for them, and cry with those who cry.

But we should not talk about things we do not know as if they are completely sure.

True hope should not be built on nice dreams, but on reliable truth.

Hospice Care Without Truth | Episode 3

What Is Really Scary About Death?

Why are people afraid of death?

Some say it is because they fear pain.

Some say it is because they hate to leave family.

Others say it is because they have not enjoyed the world enough.

These are all reasons, of course.

So modern hospice care pays much attention to easing pain, caring for emotions, and letting people leave with dignity.

These are all very good.

But I want to ask: if a person feels no pain before dying, does that mean death is no longer scary?

Of course not!

Because physical pain and death itself are not the same thing at all.

Imagine a person sitting in court as the defendant.

The judge has not passed the sentence yet.

At this time, someone brings him a comfortable chair, hands him a cup of hot tea, and plays soft music.

He does feel much more comfortable.

But please ask: is his court case solved?

没有!

No!

It is the same thing.

When a person is dying, his body can be comfortable, his room can be full of flowers, and his family can be very gentle.

But this cannot automatically solve his problem with the Creator.

An ancient scripture tells us: everyone dies once, and after that comes judgment.

What does this mean?

According to Christian faith, the truly serious thing about death is not just the end of life, but that people must face the righteous judgment of the Most High.

What a person has done, said, or even thought in his heart in this life is not without meaning.

We may trick others or even trick ourselves.

But no one can trick the completely righteous Creator.

So, the most important question in life is not just: how can I live comfortably?

Instead, it is: when I stand before the Most High, how can I stand firm?

Hospice Care Without Truth | Episode 4

Does a Good Person Always Have a Good End After Death?

When talking about death, many people like to say:

"He was a good person."

"He helped many people in his life."

"He did not do bad things."

"A person like this will surely have a good end."

This sounds very right to our feelings.

But here is a question: by whose standard is this "good person"?

By our own standard? By society's standard? Or by the Creator's standard?

For example, a person did many good deeds, helped many poor people, and donated a lot of money.

But he also lied, hurt others, and had pride, envy, and selfishness in his heart.

Then, please tell me: is he really a good person?

If a person breaks the law, can he say to the judge:

"Although I broke the law, I also did many good things, so you should not judge me!"

Of course not!

Doing good deeds does not make past wrongdoings disappear automatically.

According to ancient Christian faith, man's biggest problem is not that he does not do enough good, but that no one can reach the Most High's perfect standard of righteousness by good deeds.

We always feel that if we are a little better than others, we should be fine.

But the righteousness of the Most High is not a comparison between humans.

This brings a very serious question: if everyone has wrongdoings and the Creator is completely righteous, who can pass the final judgment?

Must everyone face punishment in the end?

不是!

No!

Ancient Christian faith has another very important message.

That is: humans cannot solve the problem of sin by themselves, but the Creator himself prepared a path of salvation for humans.

This is true hope.

Hospice Care Without Truth | Episode 5

What Does a Dying Person Need to Hear Most?

If you know that a person only has a few days left to live, what would you say to him?

"Your life has been very wonderful."

"Do not think too much."

"Go in peace."

These words may make him feel warm.

But if you truly believe that there is eternity after death, shouldn't you tell him things more important than these?

We have already talked about this: everyone dies once, and after that comes judgment.

We also talked about this: humans cannot rely on good deeds to solve the problem of sin and judgment.

So, where is the way out?

According to ancient Christian faith, the Creator did not leave people in despair.

He himself prepared a Savior.

This Savior entered human history and became a real human being.

He did not sin, but he took the punishment that sinners deserved.

He went through death and rose again from death.

Why?

Because the debt of sin that humans cannot pay by themselves needs a truly sinless Savior to pay.

This is the way of salvation that Christianity teaches.

So, what a dying person needs most is not just a comfortable hospital bed.

It is not just painkillers, flowers, and companionship.

He needs even more to know: how he can make peace with the Creator, how he can get true forgiveness, and how he can have hope beyond death.

Of course, we should respect the patient, care for his body, and listen to his heart.

Sharing faith should also come from love and honesty, not from fear or force.

But if we hide eternal questions completely because we fear talking about death, then is what we offer a complete care, or care only for this life?

True hospice care should not only help a person reach the end of life comfortably.

It should also allow him to think seriously: what is actually after the end?

Because true love not only cares about a person's today.

It also cares about his eternity.
